Here is the last of my pictures from last weeks sketching. As most artists know it takes practice to stay sharp and productive. I have found that the more I draw and paint, the more I am enjoying the process of creation each piece. I used to feel like I had to spit something out, but now I am finding it more of a relaxation process. Here are the pieces:
Old woman with spinning wheel, ref. photo, pencil.
Cardinal, ref. photo, colored pencils over watercolors.  This technique I read about on Wetcanvas, it really makes drawings pop!

Flower, ref. photo, pen/ink.

 Brushes, ref. photo, pen/ink.
 Bee/flower, ref. photo, pen/ink.
 Tree frog, pen/ink.
 Bird, pen/ink.
Old town, from ref. photo, pen/ink.
I am really enjoying the ink drawings.  I used a couple of different pens and have found my new favorites as Uni-ball Vision needle and a Rapidiograph with india ink.  Check back next weekend for more from my sketchbook.

I wanted to show a few more pages from my sketchbook, from this past week and today.
First is a window with window box, from ref. photo, pencil.
Wolf from ref. photo, pencil.

Road from book picture, oil pastels.

Fence from ref.photo, pencil.

57 Chevy from photo ref, pencil drawing.
Will post more pics tomorrow.  I am finishing up some pen/ink pics right now.
I thought I would start sharing what I have in my sketchbook each week.  The following are from the past week.  I often practice using reference photos from the internet or in magazines.  The first here is done in oil pastels.  I haven't used them much before so this will take a lot more trial and error.
 Barn from reference photo, pencil.
Farm truck from reference photo, pencil.
Chickadee bird from Birds and Blooms magazine, I also did a painting from this that is listed on my Etsy.  Pencil.
 Orange from ref. photo, pencil.
Victorian house from ref. photo, pencil drawing.
I will be posting more sketches and drawings as I finish them each week.

New items on Etsy,

I posted several new items on Etsy this morning.  The first two are drawings and the next two are jewely pendants containing original works of art in miniature.  These pendants are so fun to make.  They have little glass inserts that you can put the pictures inside of, and they are two sided.  Have a look.

Rosebud, watercolor

Today I felt like painting something for Valentine's day or love, that sort of thing.  I love painting and drawing roses and I think this one turned out pretty nice.  India ink and watercolors on watercolor paper.  Measures 5 by 7.

Back to basics

I have really needed something to get my creative juices going again.  I feel like I have been going in too many directions.  In the beginning of my creativity I make drawings and paintings.  I have gone way off course into more crafts then I would like.  So for now I think I will try to focus on drawing, painting and my glass work.

All good things must end...

as my internship finally comes to a close, I find myself having to do the whole job search process all over again.  Yawn!  In the mean time I will be getting back to my crafts and lampworking.  SO!!!! what this means is stay tuned for new goodies and treasures showing up on Etsy, and more new blog posts (finally)... I have missed my blogging.  Two weeks of internship left and then heavy crafting time.  What has everyone been up to on the weekends?  Me and mine have been fishing (catch and release) and exploring all the little towns around that we didn't know were nearby.  Enjoy the beginning of your Autumn and more blogs soon, I promise!!!
